Recruiter acting on behalf of AbbVie reached out to me.
The first interview was a technical interview with the recruiter which wasn’t specified in advance. Cleared the interview and was offered a second interview.
The second interview was very badly coordinated, again with the recruiter, multiple people joined at the start of the meeting, some dropped after 1-2 mins while a few stayed on. One or two people without introducing themselves properly began another technical interview ( again not specified in advance)
I answered the questions and that seemed fine.
I was asked if I had any questions about the role which I did e.g What IT functions /teams are currently on site and asked about the integration between the teams etc.
I was told that they would not answer the questions then but would answer them another time, I was pretty taken aback by this.
I was asked if I had any other questions but when asked I was again told they would be answered another time.
I was invited to a third interview but politely refused based on my experience in the first two interviews.
I recommend that AbbVie vet who are performing interviews on their behalf. The experience is very unprofessional.
I wonder how many suitable candidates like myself gave up even after clearing interviews based on the dreadful experience in the first interviews before a AbbVie contact even spoke to me.
It doesn’t say very much about a strong culture and I think I dodged a bullet
