I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Align Technology (San Jose, CA) in Jan 2016
Interview
HORRIBLE! I spoke with a senior director and was told that a coordinator would get back to me on the interview schedule. It took two weeks and then I was scheduled to meet with eight managers, one hour each, all in one day They will ill prepared coming into the meeting and several were 30 mins late. One manager told me that I didn't have the right experience and walked out after 15 mins. I could have been there four hours instead of eight. Very grueling and unprofessional.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Align Technology (Raleigh, NC) in Oct 2015
Interview
Got an email from an HR manager wanting to setup an interview on a certain day and time. They did not tell me much about the position or the company. Had to sign an NDA before interviewing with the hiring manager. The office was very empty and I saw no other employees except the Human Resources and Software Director. Human resources tried to sell it as a ground floor opportunity to influence the culture of the organization at that location. Software Director presented the technology that they were working on, then asked some technical questions. He gave two algorithms to solve on paper.
