I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Austin, TX) in Jan 2022
Interview
First Call with the recruiter, second call with hiring manager followed by a 5-person loop interview. The loop consisted of several other SDM's of various levels, Product Managers, and a Sr. Architect. The process was well organized and planned. My interviews were scheduled between noon and 7pm local time.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Arlington, VA) in Dec 2021
Interview
The first step is a screening call to judge if there is enough possibility to spend the rest of the interview time.
This is followed by an initial interview, one hour. This is the first Behavioral Interview you'll encounter.
If that goes well, you are asked to do a 'loop' as well as doing a writing assignment.
The writing assignment allows you to demonstrate your ability to write concisely, tell a story, use the STAR method and demonstrate leadership principles. It's almost like another round of interview.
In my case the loop was 4 behavioral and 1 system design, though that was also about 50% behavioral too.
Following the loop, the internal team reviews, compares notes and 'votes'. If this is positive, you'll hear from the recruiter within a week.

Interview
One of the best structured interview processes I have ever been in. The recruiter let me know what to expect and there were no surprises. They were in constant communication with me throughout the process.
