I applied through college or university. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Bloomberg (Binghamton, NY) in Oct 2012
Interview
Bloomberg came to my school's job fair, where I handed in my resume. From there, they contacted me for an on-campus interview, then a second interview the next day, then a third and final interview the following week. The first two were technical, and the last was with two HR ladies and lasted only 10 or 15 minutes. After that, I didn't hear for a few weeks, which could be explained by Hurricane Sandy messing things up, I suppose. I ended up not receiving an offer, which befuddles me since I had three rounds of interviews.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
We're playing a game of Russian Roulette. I take 2 consecutive bullets out of the 6 bullet revolver and spin the chamber. I go first and shoot the bullet at my head, which misses. I then pass the gun to you, where you have the option of spinning the chamber, or shooting. Which would you do to maximize your probability of not dieing?
Overall, it was a positive and professional interview experience, though the interviewer was on the stricter side. Unfortunately, I was dealing with an illness and wasn't able to prepare as thoroughly as I wanted to, which left me feeling a bit off throughout the conversation. Despite not feeling my best and facing a tough interviewer, the process was well-structured.
Fairly simple. Phone call then onsite. For onsite it was 10 min office tour follow by 1 hr interview then 1 hours system design and 30 mins manager interview. Interviewers were nice and the recruiter was accommodating.
5 rounds first 3 being leetcode coding ones and the last 2 being behavioral. The first three are the hardest asking mainly taggeed questions and the rest are not that bad
