I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One (New York, NY) in Mar 2018
Interview
A recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn and sent me a coding evaluation that took about 4 hours (building an app).
The second interview was pretty unpleasant. It consisted of a phone interview with myself and three engineers but it really felt like they were teaming up and attempting to bully me? By bully I mean that they would continuously cut me off and have side conversation, but I didn't feel I was in a place to ask them to stop.
Finally, I was invited to an event Cap One was hosting in NYC, which was fun and I got to meet a lot of cool people.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One (Richmond, VA) in Dec 2016
Interview
It starts off with an assessment they ask you to do via email. Then you have a phone interview with one rep, after if they like you they ask you when you are available for an in person interview. You interview with two different interviewers.
I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Capital One (McLean, VA) in Sep 2017
Interview
Applied through college, process took 6 weeks. Initially did not receive any call from them but after constant followups with the recruiter, finally ended up with an interview.
