I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Citi (Toronto, ON) in Jan 2016
Interview
Went through a prescreening with their 'senior HR representative', which went well for the most part. Basic questions were asked regarding my experience and whether or not I was currently working. He also briefly went what my salary expectations are (I lowballed because I was a bit unprepared what the range would be). He told me he would call me back, which he did, and I was booked for an interview by the end of the week.
I went to the interview, which was conducted by 2 of the managers. It lasted about an hour, but they were impressed with my professionalism. One of the managers went as far as to say that I would be a good fit on his team. I was told to wait for contact from HR for the next steps.
I waited, I didn't receive a call but I checked my email later in the day to see that he requested that I call him. It was late in the day (after 5pm) so I thought it wouldn't be appropriate to call after typical business hours.
I called him first thing in the morning. And he outright accused me of having another job and assumed that I wasn't interested in the job. I explained to him that I was unavailable during the day and that it wouldn't be proper etiquette to call a business after 5PM. He said he needed to speak with management and that he would call back, he told me that I 'better' be waiting by the phone. I told him no problem.
He calls about 2 hours later to discuss salary, he asks again what my expectations were. I gave him a new number (from the basis of an old colleague of mine who works there, and some research) and he acted like i punched him in the gut. He asked me why I changed my mind about salary, and why I didn't notify him before. I explained to him that it would be inappropriate to discuss pay without even meeting with management. He said he would need to call me back.
He called me the following morning, saying how they were no going to continue with my application. He offered no other explanation. I thanked him for his time and hung up.
I applied in-person. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Citi (Makati City) in Jun 2013
Interview
The recruiters have their checklist with them for the non-negotiable items that they need to ask during the interview, including the shifting schedule, min salary, CSAT/NPS experience etc. And if you pass the intial interview you will be asked to take on a written exam then will proceed with the 2nd round of interview. Then the hiring manager will also do an interview after you were endorsed by the the recruitment specialist.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Citi (Gray, TN) in May 2015
Interview
I waited in the lobby and then a manager came and retrieved me and we talked about the job together on the walk to his office...once there he told me about the job and we talked about my previous work experiences...He explained what Citi expects from their employees, and then we talked a little bit about other previous work experiences, especially the areas I lived . From the end of the conversation, he didn't right out say it, but he sounded like he was saying I had a strong chance of being hired. After 2 weeks, I ended up getting hired.
