I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Cognizant (Mumbai)
Interview
I was a referral here. Recruiter from Pune office contacted me, asked me my salary expectation and scheduled a phone interview following week with a project manager who was also knowledgeable on databases. I kept waiting for the phone call from the hiring manager at the scheduled time but no-one called, after waiting for about 20 minutes I called the recruiter to check. The recruiter asked me to wait while he looked to see if the manager was available. Recruiter calls me and apologizes for the no show and reschedules the interview after couple days and communicates me the new date. So I wait patiently for the phone call on the new interview date and this time the hiring manager calls me on the scheduled time and apologizes to me for not calling me the previous week. The questions start right off with my experience and current database development activities followed by technical questions. After the interview ended, the manager told me the recruiter/HR will get back to me regarding the next steps. I was contacted by the recruiter for a follow-up HR round. The HR called me and asked me simple questions about my experience and my career goals and finally made me an offer, it was 60% over what I was making at my current company so I gladly accepted it. Overall I felt the interview process went well except the HR could have been a little more professional in communicating the interview dates and making sure the hiring manager was available.
