I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Epic in Jun 2012
Interview
I applied online. Epic's application process was very simple. From resume submission to on-site interview was about 1 month for me. I was contacted by email about a week and a half after applying online and asked to complete a relatively simple online assessment. The assessment was geared towards personality questions and took about 30 minutes. A phone interview was scheduled for a couple days after that. The phone interview was short and basic, no unexpected or difficult questions. After about two weeks of waiting I got an email asking me to fly to Madison for an on-site interview. Once there I was told I would be interviewing for PM and also for Technical Services. The on-site interview is a full day and much like has been described in other posts here. I waited about a week to hear that I didn't get the job - Epic does not provide feedback about their decision.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
A logic assessment question asked you to determine the price of a fruit based on the prices of several other fruits.
Interview is exactly like what everybody else has been posting so if you do your research, prepare answers for each of the questions, the interview(s) will be a breeze.
1. Phone Interview -- Standard walk through your resume, tell us why healthcare, why Epic, why PM.
2. Rembrandt Personality Test -- First of several tests. Word Analogies. Just some common sense questions. Several Word Analogies. Not bad at all.
3. On-Site Interview: Fly you out to Madison, option to be hosted by an Epic employee. Highly recommend this.
A. Early morning (leave hotel @7:30) Tour at 8:30. Folder telling you your itinerary.
B. Tour of Epic Campus
C. Software Demo (see the product)
D. Role Overview (2x for me. Don't worry, not an interview, just an opportunity to ask questions)
E. Interview (Case w/ PM). Very easy, given a case and asked to prioritize and how would you deal with the problems.
F. Another Case interview w/ TS. Same as before. Straight forward
G. Lunch! Schedule to interview M/W/F and you get to try the Gelato!
H. Presentation (10 min, on your choice. You get to prepare ahead of time)
I. HR interview / Behavioral Interview (Resume stuff, references, etc.)
J. Skills Test (math, programming, english -- like a standardized test)
Everyone is very friendly and although the day is long (about 8hrs for me) it is not bad at all. Hope that helps!
Still waiting to hear back, they take 1-2 weeks.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
If (first listed reference) were asked what is a weakness of yours, what would he or she say?
They repeat this question for your three references so you should have this somewhat figured out.
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Epic (Verona, WI) in Jul 2012
Interview
I went to Alumni Career Fair and talked with Epic recruiter and agree to be considered. After a week I was asked to check if everything was putted correctly, 2 days later I was requested to fill out Rembrandt profile. Few days later we scheduled phone interview, and participated in it. Then it was invitation to Pearson VUE center for tests (Math and software logic). Because I had part of my education done outside US I was asked to send them all transcripts. Done that so finally I was invited to the HQ. All what other said was true - so I will not write about it. Please note that during final interview if they will give you 2-minute test (10 questions math and verbal) and will talk about evaluation of the offer you are almost in. Almost because someone gave me bad review during process and I was not offer a job.
