This is gonna be a little bit different. What we’re going to do is to build a short presentation (between 7 and 9 minutes) that you are going to present to a hypothetical chief information team. Going to spend some amount of time
- Prioritize and create solutions
- Present, what are we going to say
- Start presentation at 3 PM
NOTES:
- Application coordinators for eureka healthcare going live in only three weeks
o During your last visit, project team has decided to go live with an additional radiology clinic, North Imaging Center
- Customer made decision eight weeks ago, it was not communicated to the Epic team until yesterday. With only three weeks until go-live, you have to make some decision about how to handle North Imagining
Some issues:
- No super users are trained for North Imaging
o Super-users started training three months ago and have been working in the system three months ago
o Other three sites; use three to four super-users
- The clinic will require additional system build
o A lot of the system build can be redone
- You have a team of six analysts, employed by the customer; work as coaches and mentors. Those six analysts could probably complete all of the build required in one week if done full time
o If you use epic employees, can be done more quickly, but it will be more effective
- The system has not been tested
o Testing started three months ago; customer is st
If all six work on it full time, and if you work on it part time is you can probably it in a week
o Any time you spend on this project, you can’t do in a week
It’s a balancing act
- Generally, your goal should be to go-live on time
o It is *very* expensive to go-live
How do you respond?
