I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Epic (Verona, WI) in Sep 2019
Interview
Recruiter reached out to me on Handshake. Day after I submitted my application, they got back to me to set up a 15-30 minute phone interview (casual, explaining the position and gauging your interest), take a personality test, as well as a proctored online technical assessment (math/logic/reasoning). Couple days after those were completed, was invited to fly out to their campus, all expenses paid.
Onsite interview:
They fly you into Madison the day before your interview. I took the offer for a small group dinner with an employee the night before and got to chat with my host and a couple other applicants about Epic's culture and our backgrounds.
Day of:
They arrange a morning taxi for you and others in your recruit group from your hotel in Madison to their campus in Verona (30 minutes). When they say feel free to dress casual, they mean casual casual is fine. (interviewers wore shorts) But you also won't be alone if you dress up more as there are 8-10 other applicants around at the same time. Day was broken into several 45-60 minute sections that included a company overview & software demonstration, small group discussion with a senior employee in your position, 1:1 case study and interview, 1:1 overview of and interview for 2nd position they're considering you for (if any), small group tour of campus (a fraction of it, since you can't really see the whole thing in a day, much less an hour) & lunch, 1:1 HR interview, and then a programming assessment (pseudocode/English is fine). Finished mid-afternoon and taxied back to airport for evening flight home.
They send you a background check form to fill out and that you'll hear back within 10 business days (let them know if you need an answer sooner). I got an offer in 3 business days, and they gave a week to respond. They also set me up on a call that week with an employee who's in a career growth path I expressed interest in (also a chance to ask any questions that came up after being flooded with information onsite), and then followed up with me the day after that call which is when I accepted.
Everything was extremely organized. Very responsive and helpful HR team throughout the whole process.

Interview
Starts with a phone interview. If that goes well, they follow up with a personality test and IQ type test. Then they invite you for an onsite interview. This includes an interview with HR, an interview by a senior person from the position you are applying, and a coding test. They cover airfare, hotel, cabs, and meals. Overall, Epic provides a very professional interviewing experience.
