Phone call with recruiter followed by phone interview with a google engineer. There were two questions in 45 minutes . You code on a blank document, no IDE or code editor involved. Heavy on data structures and algorithms.
Some had poker faces, and some where very interactive. Was more nervous than I thought, I think i needed more than a month to study, not sure what questions you will get, noticed the based their question on the type of team they are in.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
know your trees, graphs,(matrix), arrays and know your dfs bfs stacks and queues
I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Google (San Francisco, CA) in Sep 2021
Interview
Applied online and heard from a tech screener.
Tech screener set up a phone screen that I passed.
Recruiter set up on-sites one month into the future.
On-sites were five video interviews with a fifteen minute break between.
I got a call from the recruiter eight days later saying I had not been selected.
Overall I think there was a disconnect between what the interviewers were communicating to me during the interview and what they reported to the hiring committee. I would’ve rather walked out of the interview knowing I had made a mistake than walked out thinking I’d done great.
