I was offered an internship after only one technical coding phone interview. The interview was about 1 hour. We a started with some friendly get-to-know-you chit chat before getting into the coding. The coding problem started very easy but there were a few levels of extension that made the problem more challenging. After the main coding part of the interview we had some time left and the interviewer quizzed me on my knowledge of hash tables. Interviewer was very friendly and it was a great experience.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Variation of 2-sum/3-sum with twists and extensions.
Cold, distant. Felt very unwelcoming and overall not a pleasant experience. Questions were LC hard and not in the subjects they said they would be. Ultimately not worth the effort.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Google (Shanghai, Shanghai) in Jan 2024
Interview
two rounds of interview in total, each 45 minutes long, asked you to implement a Python third party library's function and did another coding task, not too difficult and the interviewer is very friendly and ready to help when you got stuck
