HARMAN interview questions

I was contacted directly by the company. As usual they had asked me about my CCTC, ECTC and notice period. When they mailed me to intimate on the date of interview, I asked them if they can pay the ECTC. They told salary has no limit for correct employee. And anyways I had asked for only 30% hike. I was interviewed on Java and Hadoop. The first round was a simple technical round where they asked me to write a mapreduce code on the sales data per region. They provided me pen and paper to write the code in full syntax. The round went well and I was called for second round. In the second round the hiring manager took the round and it was pretty simple. He was boosting on what harman does and what are challenges they want to overcome. I had suggested him some ways how they can be resolved and he was happy to know that. After a week I got a mail at midnight which had a link to some online test. I called them up in the next morning if I can need to take the test as I remember them saying that all tests need to be taken from Harman office. They called me to there office and where I took the test. The system that was provided didnot start for half an hour. Some issue with windows pirate version. I was shocked to see that. Anyways after the system started I gave the test. It was objective based test on core java. There was a long wait after the online test. Probably 1.5 weeks. One day they suddenly came and asked for my pay details with proofs as soon as possible. It seems they want to release the offer. After that they again went missing for a week. Once I called them up and asked for an update, when they told me they cant give me my ECTC and quoted a figure which they can surely pay me. I agreed to that. And they promised send me the offer within two days. This never happened for another two weeks. I again followed up, got an excuse that they will close it soon and they are waiting for some approval. I asked them again after 1 week. Same reply. I waited for another 1.5 weeks and asked them if they are interested on me or can I close this chapter forever. Finally got a reply after 1 day that management wants to take another two rounds and if I am open for that. I replied yes. The same story started again. Don't go for this company. They wasted 2 months. They could have been straight and clear.

Two rounds were F2F. First round, it was okay. It was about my earlier projects and so on. Gave some scenario based questions which went well. Second round was taken by 19 year experienced Director. Initially I thought it was psychometric test, but later I felt it was more for rejection. The role required Machine Learning and the questions were predominantly in Multi Linear Regression. When I failed to answer, he simply told you are weak(Before even joining the company and not knowing the strengths of the person). Also please reject the candidate if the salary is beyond your benchmark. When I told my salary was so and so, he simply told that for your experience we cannot give the current salary and we may have to renegotiate to a lower level which I politely declined.
