How would I deal with a difficult customer.

I would do the following: 1. Communicate and find out what the problem is. 2. Speak calmly with the customer to address the problem. 3. On my own initiative I would try and resolve the situation if i was in a position to do so by coming up with solutions. 4. If it was something I was not able to do and only a manager could, I was then proceed to my manager and explain the situation
