How would you design an ATM for the future?
Anonymous
This is the most important one and, if you like solving problems, this is also the most interesting one. I was asked to design an ATM for the future. The two designers were right there to answer my questions about the task - like the bank behind it, investment for the project, the user it was trying to target, etc. The key is to ask a lot of questions - letting your inquisitiveness take over. I got around 15 mins to create the concept of the ATM, sketch a few interactions and the information hierarchy it could work on. Moreover, I made it a key points to also list the drawbacks it might have. Then the designers took upon the role of bankers and asked me to sell them the idea. I had to back it with my own reasons, information and biases. And they are looking for people who do not state a solution just because it's their opinion, but can put in the effort to make their solution measurable.
