I applied in-person. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at ING (Amsterdam) in Feb 2015
Interview
It was pretty quick. The position was in operations team. I had two face-to-face interviews (each took around 1 hour). The questions were quite general; they didn't ask any technical details.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at ING in May 2014
Interview
It was very difficult.
The questions were basically from Algorithms and data structures.
Also the time was very less to answer the question. There were2 technical rounds and one HR round.
in First round, at the start the interview was all goingvery fine, After that they have increased the level of difficulty of questions.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at ING (Amsterdam)
Interview
I applied via a recruiter.
The recruiter submitted my CV and references, and I got set up with a onsite interview.
I got a short notice to travel internationally to appear for the interview, and got welcomed by a senior manager, who introduced me to a project manager and another senior engineer, who then conducted the interview on his behalf.
The interview was a hour-long session discussing former experience, presenting the role and the company, and performing a test.
All in all I would recommend working for ING, but do yourself a big favor and apply using a recruitment agency. Rates at ING for senior level software developers are fairly standard, and exceed 60 Euro/hr , whereas an internal role pays approximately a third of that, for exactly the same role.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The test was in form of a code sample printed on paper, where a number of issues where present. I had to identify the issues, and explain why they were such and how they could be remedied.
