      International Management Trainee Interview

      Jul 18, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Edinburgh, Schottland
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Meltwater (Edinburgh, Schottland) in Jul 2016

      Interview

Great company who is looking for some real characters. If you don't have confidence then don't apply simple as. First stage was a phone call, went really well chatted with the girl on the phone then she invited me to a meet and greet. The meet and greet was very casual, you all turned up, watched a presentation, drank wine and chatted. Next stage was a group interview. You saw a rather lengthy presentation on the company and product. The current employees all spoke again about themselves and their hobbies. It appears they focus more on your personality than your experiences etc but it's obvious that being able to 'fit it' is incredibly important to the employees. Which is no bad thing. The group interview lasted 3 hours, you had to sell yourself, do a debate, an elevator pitch etc etc like I said if you have confidence issues don't apply. One negative I took from the whole process was my feedback, we were told that you would receive constructive feedback regarding the interview which I was looking forward to. However the feedback I received when being rejected was 'the other candidates were better' which is obviously gathered when I'd been told i wasn't successful to the next stage. Overall if you have confidence and want a job in sales with great travel and progression opportunities then go for it. It seems like a great fun company, I just obviously wasn't the right fit.

      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Meltwater (Amsterdam)

      Interview

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Noem 10 bekende Nederlandse multinationals. Wat weet je over de structuur van Meltwater? Waarom ben jij een geschikte manager? Noem een moeilijke situatie waarin je je bevond en hoe je hierin handelde.
