I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Microsoft
Interview
I contacted a recruiter after an on-campus infosession and he set me up with an on-campus interview. A week later, I got an e-mail saying I would move on to on-site interviews in Redmond. Everything was set up very smoothly and quickly.
The first night after arriving in Bellevue, they took us to a meet-and-greet for 3 hours in Redmond (by limo) with a whole bunch of other candidates, which may have been a bit too long because some had 8am interviews the next day and we left at around 11pm. The next day, I got to my interview in Redmond (again by limo), where the other college candidates that were interviewing for the same team were moved into the same conference room with the same recruiter (I had around 9) to chill in before and between interviews. I had a total of 4. Questions were all design questions, but I did have one technical question.
After the interviews, we hung out in the lobby of one building with an Xbox, Surface (the big one), and a bunch of cool stuff. We awaited our decisions with all the other college candidates for that day, recruiters calling us out one-by-one. Our recruiter called 4 of us out at once near the end, and told us we all got offers! He gave us all the details and since he was such a cool guy, showed us all around campus, which definitely sold me.
