I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Sage (San Jose, CA) in Mar 2018
Interview
Had a brief phone screen with HR where expectations were laid out, then a follow up phone interview with manager, which went well. Was then brought in for an in person interview with four people. Everyone was very professional and pleasant.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Pretty standard questions. Interviews felt very much like a back and forth conversation, as if to find out if I was a good fit, personality wise. Company culture fit seemed very important to everyone.
I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Sage (Newcastle, England) in Apr 2017
Interview
Overall process was frustrating, unprofessional, and certainly not 'velocity'. If anything Arrogant should be part of their values. From initial screening interview to final stage interview the process took roughly 5 weeks, and then a further week before any feedback was given. The process included an initial screening interview with the internal recruiter, followed by a telephone interview with the hiring manager. Unfortunately this was rushed because she had a meeting to go to. Nevertheless, I progressed to a face-to-face interview with the hiring manager and VP. This interview was relaxed with competency and personality questions followed by a presentation against a brief. The final stage was a meeting the team/ managers and a tour of the impressive office complex. Prior to the final interview I was told to expect a call on the Friday to give feedback, this call never happened. In fact it took over a week of chasing the internal recruiter before any feedback was given, and then the feedback was just a stock answer rather than personalised feedback. For such an impressive company it's let down by its processes and sub-rate people.
