I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Snap in Sep 2024
Interview
1st step is a basic interview of 30 min with HR, that was OKaish. Next is an interview with the Hiring Manager of 30 minutes. I was unpleasantly surprised that the Hiring Manager started nearly immediately asking me how to persuade the marketing director from my previous company to partner with Snap (as apparently, he is not interested in Snap as of now). Another question once again is what strategy Snap should go for and as I was very generic he asked which companies specifically they should target besides the companies that they work with as of today. Seriously, they expected me to work for them for free?
Hey, Snap (and Hiring manager consequently) job interview is not a consulting job that is not free of charge. Not speaking about confidentiality clauses and obligations towards our previous employers. With such practices during the hiring process, it's very unlikely Snap Inc will turn profitable in the years to come (and they are largely unprofitable). Until Snap hires/promotes people in senior roles who try to get insight and inspiration from external candidates that they do not consider as a good fit afterward, things will not turn positive for them.
