I applied online. I interviewed at Synopsys (Calgary, AB) in Mar 2020
Interview
Though I applied for a relatively general position, the talent specialist got in touch with me to talk over potential teams I could be a part of. I ended up opting for the Point & Scan team because it sounded the most challenging. The next step would have been a full day interview, meeting members of the team and working through different problems, but I didn't make it through to the next round.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The initial phone screen was pretty basic, and that was followed by a quick web-based competency challenge, just testing out how you would approach different logical problems from a technical standpoint. The next stage was more intense, with deeper questions about technical skills and a very interesting architecture conversation.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Synopsys (Hsinchu) in Jun 2019
Interview
There was a technical phone interview at first. The questions asked included basic programming language concepts, algorithms, object oriented design, etc. Non of the questions were difficult, I think, but it's better to answer it completely as you can. The on-site interview started with an examination in paper , followed by a group interview with the team members, and finally an 1:1 interview with the manager. The exam is easier than my expectation. The difficulty is between Leetcode's easy and medium levels. During the interview phase, they asked a lot of behavioral questions, rather than technical questions, which impressed me. To sum up, I'm satisfied with the interview process and the salary they paid.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Synopsys (San Francisco, CA) in Oct 2019
Interview
After 3 phone interviews they brought me in for a full day onsite interview with several people. Nothing unexpected, but kind of repetitive as most interviewers just asked the same basic questions. After taking a whole day off work for this, they didn't even have the courtesy to follow up afterwards which is about as disrespectful as you can get.
