I applied for a summer internship at Tesla through my University's information session. A recruiter reached out to me after a month and scheduled a phone interview. Questions were mostly based on my previous internships and projects. The recruiter asked follow-up questions and it was evident that the person had a good understanding of the technical side of things.
A couple of days later, I had an interview with the hiring manager. Questions were based on my resume again, but in more detail. There was also a discussion on the different manufacturing technologies being used in the industry. The manager was quite impressed by my profile and said that he would be recommending my candidature to the recruiter.
The recruiter followed up with me right after the interview and a verbal offer was made, pending some formalities and the approval of the exec team. I was told to give my joining and end dates the next business day and the offer letter along with a lot of supporting documentation was sent to me.
Overall, the process was quick and both the recruiter and the manager were prompt. It was a very good experience.
