I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at The Home Depot (Atlanta, GA) in Aug 2011
Interview
Submitted resume online. Got a call from a recruiter 8-9 days after that. Had 2-3 short phone chats with 2 different internal recruiters. Then had 2 phone interviews with hiring manager. Very positive discussions. Mostly went over my resume. I asked a good amount of questions, too. Brought into HQ for a battery of 6 1:1s with various people I would be working with. One afternoon, 6 people. It was a pleasant experience. Some interviewers were better than others -- would say most not particularly skilled at interview best practices. All in all -- a decent experience. Only ding I would give is to the internal recruiting team. They seemed to have a very sporadic grip of administrative details leading up to the face-to-face interviews -- scheduling times to talk, canceling, making assumptions that I could be available with short notice, etc. Once I got to HQ, the process was quite smooth.

Interview
There was only one interview with one of the assistant managers. He ask why am I interested in this position? What attributes can I bring to the company? How do I handle an irate customer? What to do if I don't know the answer to the customers question? He also said he liked my warm personality.

Interview
A few days after submitting an application I received an email saying they would be calling to ask a few questions or I could call them. I chose to call them and a man asked probably 10 or so questions and recorded them. Most of them were basic interview questions. A little more than a week later I got a phone call to set up another interview that would take place in the store. I went the same day and met with two people who asked questions out of a book and wrote down my answers. This took no more than 15 minutes and both people were extremely nice. Almost a week later I got a phone call and an offer. I accepted and went in to sign the background check consent form. Next I had 24 hours to go take a drug test.
