I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Waitrose in Feb 2016
Interview
Did the online assessment and heard back via email a week later to go to a group/1 on 1 interview. There was around 13 people and we were split into two groups and taken to a room where we had to create an action plan for an employee (you) for the day. Basically a list of task and problems where given and you and the team had to order them. Tip is to make sure you speak and listen otherwise they can't assess you. (They can't assess what they can't hear). Then there was a one on one interview the guy was very nice it was very relaxing so you didn't feel nervous. The questions where basic. Tell me about yourself- what have you been doing? Why waitrose? Have you ever work with a team tell me about it? Have you had to change the way you work? And waitrose based questions - what to do when a customer enters the store, if a product isn't available that a customer wants what do you do and there was one more i cant remember.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Waitrose (London, England) in Oct 2014

Can have a range of interviews from telephone which is from a script, nothing too difficult, group interviews are about a seris of group e revised which is about thinking out side of the box and group participation. One to ones are general interview quiet toons.i would recommend doing a little background research, talk lots about giving great customer service and working in teams. Give examples.
