The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Walmart in Jan 2011
Interview
First step is to apply on-line (or at a kiosk with a computer at the store). You have to pass the test, otherwise you won't get hired. They are mostly customer service questions to see if you know how to treat customers right. Then you will get a face to face interview. It helps to go inside and ask for a manager if you really want an interview. then you will have a face to face interview with the supervisor of the department you'll be working in. The questions are standard "tell me about a time you did...." type questions. There is a drug test, and yes, they WILL check your references so make sure that the phone numbers are up to date and your people know that they might be called. Also, the more hours you are available the more likely you will get hired.
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Walmart in Dec 2010
Interview
Expect a lot of questions and they will want to go over past jobs, what you liked and disliked about them. some of your accomplishments and perhaps anything you regret from past positions. Something you could have done better. After the interview they give you the paper work to go to the lab for the drug test.Good luck
