Interview
A woman called and asked if I was still interested in a supervisory position with Wal-Mart and if so she would schedule an interview. I was told what time and day, and to go the site to store dept. and use the phone to tell "someone" that I was here for an interview. Turns out there's no such process. The interviewer is an assistant manager in the customer service dept., very pleasant lady. She asks if I know what position is open. I said I was told a cashier supervisor of some sort. With a puzzled look on her face she said it was an Assistant Manager in customer service. Well that's fine except that the position was only part time, probably 18-30 hrs. per week. She knew immediately that I wasn't interested, mainly because that was what my application stated. I told her I have an associates degree in accounting and am working on my bachelors degree in business management on-line. She asked if that would interfer with my work schedule. So much for Wal-Mart being pro continuing education. I thanked her for being upfront and honest by telling me the position was only part time. We both agreed to end the interview. She was happy to keep my resume on file if something came up, however they currently have a freeze on full time employment.
