The mobile starts a cell search. Once it finds the strongest cell it accesses the SCH data i.e first the Primary SCH & then secondary SCH. The is done to obtain the downlink scrambling code of the selected NodeB. Once the scrambling code is acquired, it decodes the downlink BCH and sets up an uplink with the NodeB.
