Description
The Site Controller will manage and support all plant activities involving financial reporting, cash management, and AOP. This position will provide accurate plant financial and statistical data for leadership to make timely and informed decisions and will partner with various corporate functions. This position reports directly to the EU Finance Director.
Job Details
Role Specific Responsibilities:
Work closely with the EU Finance Director to continue the development of a world-class accounting function, encompassing all areas of accounting, including successful integration of site reporting into Aurorium structure; setting common practices for all businesses and drive consistency in reporting, compliance, accounting treatments, and practices globally.
Support the Linz Site Director as the finance business partner with providing accurate financial information and providing robust challenge to ensuring cost budgets are managed and targets are met.
Provide business partner activities to support and challenge cost forecast and spend by local budget holders.
Work effectively within the Performance Materials business unit, and with the Senior Operations Director, Performance Materials, to provide insight and direction on the business as well as producing accurate forecasts and yearly budgets.
Oversee and actively close the books for month end within the set timeline.
Ensuring detailed Balance sheet reconciliations are prepared and reviewed to provide confidence of accurate balance sheet and identifying risks and opportunities to the P&L.
Prepare monthly and quarterly reports to global and local recipients.
Support the wider EU Finance team to ensure that all statutory reporting requirements are met within the timetable.

To provide technical supervision of and to co-ordinate training activity within the Finance/Accounting team in Linz ensuring efficient progression and distribution of workloads in line with skills/expertise available and the service meets company’s requirements.
Serve as the point person for all questions/requests/report preparation during internal and external audit processes.
Work closely with the appointed auditors to ensure a smooth and timely submission of financials. Support the UK consolidated audit.
Support in managing the relationships with local authorities and banks, ensuring all requests and deadlines are met efficiently, maintaining a strong relationship.
Drive NWC awareness, report on performance, set targets for the sites and recommend ways to improve.
Oversee and drive internal audit procedures for the business
To carry out special projects or other ancillary duties connected with the company as requested.
Deputise for other Site Accountants during periods of absence
Ensure monthly reporting for business & operational functions.
Work to tight deadlines, effectively managing changing priorities.
Oversee and challenge the weekly 13 week rolling cash forecast.
Quarterly travel to other European locations, may need to work local public holidays to adhere to US closing schedule.
Effectively communicate with global regions including US, China, India and other European countries.

Education and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Controlling, Accounting or related field
CPA preferred
5 years of experience in a senior-level accounting, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
Experience
Ideally will possess a minimum of 5 years’ controlling experience preferably gained within industry/manufacturing environment.
U.S. owed company experience preferred
Chemical manufacturing background desirable
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
General knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs and priorities
SAP FI/SD/MM competence.
Advanced Excel skills (V-lookups/Pivot Tables) and the ability to operate, develop, implement and improve IT systems
Management/financial accounting skills desirable
Displayed high levels of flexibility and adaptability
Ability to work within a multi-functional, global organizational structure and exhibits robust interpersonal skills
Critical thinking skills and analytical abilities allow assessments of situations and opportunities
Strong interpersonal skills
