Pros

Benefits roughly twice market level for graduates and second jobbers. Senior management responsibility within a year if you want it. Area manager colleagues are a smart bunch Autonomy from the off

Cons

Poor work-life balance (you have to sign out of the EU work directive in the contract) meaning you are likely to work consistently over 48h/week. Rarely two consecutive days off. Emphasis on speed with every task, not quality/ pride in work done/ decisions taken Extremely high turnover business for a reason, apply only if you are after huge benefits for huge commitment, not if you're a normal kind of out-going person looking for a lasting career.

Pros

The only thing ALDI has going for it self is the great pay and benefits, unfortunately that is it. The company has very good products and a loyal customer base.

Cons

Be prepared to give up your life and the only thing that counts is ALDI. You will always be understaffed and over worked. If you ever ask for help from your DM's the only response back is WORK HARDER and DELEGATE more. How do you delegate when you have a bare minimum staff? You will never have MEN cashiers. Managers have been told first hand by DM's that the company only wants FEMALE employees. The only exception would be possible management candidates other wise they refuse to hire MEN. I could go on for quit some time. Just be aware when choosing ALDI. The pay and benefits are great but the workload you get is insane. If your store is understaffed as a Shift Manager or Cashier be prepared to work 6 days a week and as a Store Manager or Manager Trainee be prepared for 70 hr work weeks. It is sad to say the first chance I get I will be leaving.
