Pros

Great benefits, Great pay. The job itself weeds out coworkers who don't have a strong work ethic. Promotes self-reliance and self-motivation.

Cons

Physically demanding. Sometimes long shifts (9+ hours), that are intensified but the amount of physical labor you do on daily basis. If you want to be full time you are essentially "on call" and need to have open availability. No taking classes or requesting certain nights off for your bowling league or whatever. Burnout rate for cashiers is very high. If you respond better to positive reinforcement, this is not the job for you. They only let you know when you are doing something wrong.

Pros

Busy work, Always moving. Time goes by fast, Paid Lunch, Over-Time, Nice Salary, No time for Drama, Fast Paced.

Cons

If you are looking for a job where you can just skate bye...Then don't come here. Only 3 associates on the majority of the day. you and 2 others will have 3 hours in the morning to receive and stock 26 pallets from dry goods to freezer and walk-in...this is not a con, just a warning that when you clock on...you will not stop moving until your shift is done. you three don't finish the truck, then you will stay after to complete it so the night shift can do their jobs. this is a TEAM environment..If one person can't pull their weight...you will have to make up for it.

Pros

The pay and benefits...that is pretty much it. They do teach you how to manage your time, right down to the second. Productivity is a huge part of their philosophy and it is pounded into you from the start.

Cons

There is little to no positive feedback to anything you do. Store conditions are always questioned, regardless of how it really looks. District Managers are in complete control of the store (micromanaged) and if they like something at a different store...guess what, your gonna change it in your store. Rules for running the store change from DM to DM. I went through 5 different DMs and each ran the store differently, focusing on completely different parts of the store. It was very hard to get used to. As for the last question of this review goes, I don't think that Charles (Chuck) Youngstrom knows what is happening at the store levels. He is fed whatever the Directors want him to hear (or what Chuck wants to hear).
