Pros

Benefits (Cigna, company paid life insurance, 401k, pregnancy support, non-smoking support, etc.) for full time were nice with lots of time allotted for vacation, sick, and personal. They really put you to work so you lose weight and learn how to be very quick and efficient throughout your tenure. You get to meet awesome people whether it be co-workers or eventual regular customers. The pay was more than most other places would offer.

Cons

Never having more than 3 people at a time scheduled, night or day. They'll promise midshifts to have that extra coverage but rarely ever followed through, which makes for a constant sense of urgency. DMs don't care what you've done or how much you've done, they always want more and never seem to be satisfied. They also want you to have 100% open availability as well even if you're part time so no set schedules whatsoever. Sometimes customers are very rude and will get mad even after explaining how the store works to them. No opportunity to grow because no one takes the time to teach you anything. You also are almost always covered in bruises and cuts because of how physical it can be.

Pros

Benefits are okay, that's really about it. Health insurance was good but can't really use it because you will work when yet are sick.

Cons

They will run you into the ground and ask for more.

Pros

Not much. My review has 1 star because I can't rate it with zero.

Cons

I work in the corporate headquarters in Batavia, IL. This place is a joke. The management is terrible and they all drank the kool-aid that ALDI is serving. First of all, they take young kids in college and put them in a program to become buying directors where they work as a distract manager for a very brief time. When that time is over, they are transitioned to buying directors making 6 figures with no real experience. Many directors and managers are younger than the rest of the employees and have less experience and frankly shouldn't be managing people. The people without supervisory roles are treated as though they are worthless and given horrible benefits while those in management have everything handed to them on a silver platter. Non-management has nowhere to go and no advancement opportunities. There is no HR department and no where to turn when there are issues. The management doesn't want to hear anything the staff has to say. They are too busy telling staff "no" that they don't see the bigger picture and the extremely high turnover as a problem. The majority of people are unhappy and don't like working for ALDI because they are overworked, unrecognized, and treated poorly. Morale is low and every time we think it couldn't be lower, management has a way of bringing us down even more. They treat us like children and show us little respect. Every single book on business about keeping staff happy and productive has apparently never been introduced to this company. ALDI does the exact opposite of what a scuccessful company should do to keep employees satisfied.
