Pros

There are a large number of engineers, software designers, and project managers who have been here for 10 to 20 years. The upside is stability, once you're in and proven yourself.

Cons

The downside is how slow the organization adapts to new markets, new ideas, new people. The age old battle between the sales & marketing group vs. the operations group is very pronounced. It's exasperated by the fact it's a matrix organization. Projects are rarely completed on time.

Cons

Difficulties with quick and efficient project execution. Centrally controlled organization. Bureaucratic.
