Pros

Good Graduate Training Program. Very much focused on research and development so the work can be very interesting. People from diverse locations around the world so has a global feel to the organization. You are working with some of the smartest people in the industry.

Cons

Reactive management so feels like they following trends of leading players in the industry rather than setting them. Very poor diversity in terms of the senior positions in engineering and management in the company.

Thanks for leaving a review and your over 5 years of contributions to Arm. Our Graduate rotation program allows recent grads to gain experience in a variety of teams over a set time frame. With the diverse amount of work experience, grads can then choose which team suits their interests best while also better understanding how each department contributes to the Arm ecosystem. As with any growing company, we always have room for improvement. That goes from the support and infrastructure to the diversity of people in senior engineering and management positions at Arm. No company is perfect, but we have made a number of hires in our higher grades that promotes a more diverse work environment while at the same time investing in the development of Arm employees via the Talent Development team. Events like the Arm Leadership Conference is also an opportunity to recognize and promote high performing employees in to key leadership roles. I do invite you to continue to share your thoughts and leave another review in a year to see how things have improved. If you would like to learn more about our D&I initiatives, please visit the D&I intranet page and connect with the key leaders who are helping shape Diversity at Arm. -Rick C. Pros

What others mentioned Vacation, health Some people are good.

Cons

like other people mentioned that PIPD team is a very bad jobs experience. Nothing happens here in San Jose. Management keeps changing and now they have imported someone from outside group to manage key projects. Very poor and arrogant management. You don't learn anything here. Lots of politics and lots finger pointing.

Thanks for leaving a review. My apologies for a late response, as I generally try to respond to reviews in a timely manner. First, thank you for your over 5 years of service. If you are still with ARM, you will know that we recently restructured the organization in to two distinct groups: IPG and ISG. We have a lot of growth ahead of us, with the separation allowing us focus on growing the businesses independently of each other without the need to report to shareholders. Talent Development is an important part of ARM, and one that I feel that could use more recognition. There are numerous courses that you can take internally from the Talent Development intranet page to help develop any additional skills you require for your function or you can take external courses/conferences that are needed and get reimbursed by ARM. Additionally, as an ARM employee you have access to lynda.com, so you can also use that platform to learn new soft and hard skills, be it in management, public speaking or even coding in a new language. I do invite you to come back and leave another review in 4 more months, as Glassdoor allows users to leave a review once a year. Hopefully many of the comments you have will have already been addressed! -Rick C. Social Recruiting Manager

Pros

This is the place to be if you like being at the beginning of a tech revolution. Compensation for my job is quite generous and most other employers won't even attempt to match it.

Cons

If you like personal space you won't get it here. Management insists on bringing more people on board and then pretends like the offices defy the laws of space like the TARDIS. If you want to be promoted I'd recommend looking elsewhere. If there's a choice to promote someone or hire from outside, 90% of the time it is always the latter decision. Management also doesn't feel that taking on more responsibility and stress merits a pay rise either. Upper management over the past year has done very well insulating itself from upward feedback. Employee surveys are conducted but results are spun in a fashion that'd make the best politicians jealous.

Thanks for your honest feedback. Since we have grown so big so fast, it's hard to find the space to put people sometimes. Depending on your location, we are looking to address that with new buildings. In Austin, the new building being built can't get here quick enough, while the Cambridge office is also looking to expand some as well. Feedback from surveys are being listened to, and we are taking strides to address them quicker, with the revamp of the TAP and AFDS. So instead of doing a big course correction once a year, we're looking to do more frequent checkins to quickly adjust in short bursts. -Rick C. Social Recruiting Manager
