Pros

You’ll build great experience to further your career elsewhere.

Cons

Where do I start? Overt and passive-aggressive bullying at all levels. Sycophants everywhere climbing the greasy pole. Being stuck in pointless meetings all day, leaving weekends and late evenings as the only time to do productive work. Being monitored to enforce the 3 days/week mandated office attendance. Being stabbed in the back constantly. Unclear expectations. Ridiculous timescales. Arrogance.

Pros

AstraZeneca stands as a global leader in the pharmaceutical industry, renowned for its cutting-edge research and groundbreaking therapies that address some of the world’s most pressing health challenges. With a strong commitment to scientific innovation, the company has built a reputation for delivering life-changing medicines and fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence. That's the only pro ... and learning abut the pharma industry.

Cons

In organizations where toxic leadership prevails, the culture is often shaped by self-serving agendas rather than collective success. Nepotism can undermine fairness, leading to favoritism that erodes team morale and stifles merit-based opportunities. When egos dominate decision-making, collaboration takes a back seat, creating an environment where individual interests outweigh the organization’s goals. The Cons of Toxic Leadership: Decreased Morale: Employees may feel undervalued and disengaged, resulting in higher turnover rates. Stifled Innovation: A fear-driven environment discourages creativity and collaboration, leading to stagnant growth. Erosion of Trust: Favoritism and ego-driven decisions diminish trust in leadership and among team members. Talent Drain: High-performing individuals are likely to seek opportunities elsewhere, leaving behind a less effective workforce. Reputational Damage: A toxic workplace culture can tarnish the organization’s brand, deterring both potential talent and clients.
