Great people, great place to work, but work/life balance is difficult

Smart people, interesting career options, no up or out policy, great technology, great benefits, work with latest MS tech. Very good place to work.

Cons

Feelings of being disconnected, everyone is working so hard and reactively you wonder who is focusing on company direction strategy

Poor work life balance No bonus Training time is not taken due to project demands Most projects GDN based which means you end up training GDN staff and doing the work of 5 people Not suited for consultants with family

Avanade is a Microsoft shop and pushes all of it's employees to become certified in Microsoft Products and Services. Good place to get certified.

Cons

Most projects are subcontracted out from Accenture and Avanade has very little direct business. This means most projects are managed by Accenture and there is little career growth towards managing projects.
