Pros

ROWE started with Best Buy - great promoter of work-life balance and working at the corporate campus is very convenient (full service banks, daycare, gym, great lunchroom, minute clinic, employee store... you can even get your oil changed and a passport). They made it very easy to be comfortable in your job and come into work every day. Great employee discount.

Cons

Leadership and management is dismal at best. Employee recognition is null, and the advancement of women and fairness to employees is non-existent. Even women who are part of WOLF (women's leadership forum - a employee resource group to help women network and build leadership skills) are constantly having to justify why it is important to have women in the work place as well as the importance of the women customer to all the male peers. There are organization changes and layoffs in one area or another every 4-6 months, so the job security is scarce. There is tremendous growth, which can be good if done right - Best Buy lets everyone run loose with little to no direction and then several different groups will be working on the same initiative all with huge capital funding and very high up positions leading it, but delivering no results... and then they change direction in the blink of an eye, don't communicate to anyone...

Pros

Flexible hours, good work environment, great discount, everyone is about the same age so you have a chance to build friendships with your fellow employees. Easy communication between the managers and the employees. A lot of team building activities that allow you to interact with all the employees and no just your own section. Good place to work for summer jobs and part time to keep the discount. Advance is pretty quick and as long as you work hard you can move up pretty quick with the company.

Cons

Shifts can be odd times during the day, hours can be cut dramatically depending on budget of section.

Pros

discount you get. management is easy going. super stylish blue shirts are versatile outside of work. name tags are particularly shiny. employees are young, youthful, beautiful, sexual, and bi-curious.

Cons

salary isn't fantastic. upward mobility is nonexistent. not enough pizza parties. customers are a real downer to this job. this position would be perfect if you never had to deal with customers. lots of buzzing and blinking and chirping electronics all around the store. the possibility that at any time, if computers and the like where to become self aware, that this workplace would be in the "danger zone" of their human-wrath.
