      Pros

      This is THE place to be for physics! As a summer student you get to not only work with amazing physics at one of the world's most amazing experiments, you also get to share this experience with others who are as passionate about their subjects as you are.

      Cons

      I don't really think there were any downsides to the Summer student programme, perhaps that it is only available for a limited time.

      Wonderful work environment with dedicated researchers.

      Cons

      Geneva is quite expensive. Airconditioning in offices would be nice.

      Pros

      CERN attracts the best of the best, encouraging for a exciting and rewarding environment for researches. They offer unparalleled benefits for the research community, full medical, optic, and dental insurance for you and you family with worldwide coverage.

      Cons

      CERN management is very regimented and unusually slow for a research center of medium size. Most requests must climb up and down the management ladder. This effect coupled with a very compartmentalized management structure means issues can go un noticed/ un corrected for weeks at a time.
