      Pros

      Mostly good coworkers in engineering department. Mostly good direct managers in engineering. Pretty good benefits. Decent pay. Job stability. Location is decent.

      Cons

      This company used to be a great place to work. Since the acquisition by UTC, and especially since the merger with Raytheon, this company is getting hard to work for. The mothership company regularly pushes changes that make it harder to get the "real" work done, or cause long-timers to quit: Removing incentive pay (bonuses) for all but the most senior folks, "Return To Office", xClass (export classification), reducing Teams chat retention to 60 days for legal CYA, recent password management nightmares, monitoring software on company PCs, to name a few. Additionally, the route to Senior Principal Engineer at this site feels blocked off in a way it wasn't for previous generations.

      Compensation is lower than new employees coming from outside company, ever since merger with RTX company has gone down hill, senior leadership favors friendships over anything, lack of promotions and movement in departments and overall restrictions on correcting pay for under-paid/tiered individuals

      Plenty of work and projects for experience.

      Cons

      Communication, traceability, and visibility are in the stone age. Everything are on excel sheets which majority are not shared amongst the site so there is big gap in knowing where things are at. Site if full of politics, worst I have ever seen. It takes forever to incorporate changes. The processes are outdated and it takes forever and a lifetime to see change. Leaders don't listen to their employees who are the ones in the trenches. Very inefficient processes.
