How much restructuring is enough?

Pros

Good benefits Good work life balance People are generally collaborative and friendly Internal mobility

Cons

Disorganised and mismanaged. 8% of global workforce laid off in Feb. Many roles made redundant were still open just months ago, so new hires should tread with caution. This company seems to conduct layoffs every 1-2 years (also in 2021, 2019). This results in a shrinking "legacy" team who gets more and more overstretched as they lose SMEs with deep domain knowledge. New blood which are supposed to revitalise the org and inject fresh ideas are getting also cut. Not pivoting quickly enough while other players in the industry are already encroaching on the Retail Media space.

Pros

Some nice people, selection of good benefits including WFH

Cons

Constant cost cutting - operating on a shoe string budget but expecting miracles. Regular rounds of poorly executed redundancies and restructuring over the last few years - if you like security then avoid Incompetent and unqualified leaders, in particular amongst Directors and Senior Directors. Speaking French seems to be the main criteria to get to this level. Lots of talk about being ‘People focused’ but in reality this is not the case. Talent Development and promotion opportunities minimal.

We are deeply sorry to hear that you didn't feel supported. Our plan to become the world-leading Commerce Media Platform, announced in February 2021, has led to us having to pivot. True it is that the industry is fast-paced, which is also what inspires us to meet the challenge. As an acknowledgment for employees' efforts during this time, we gave all Criteos a free rest day and increased our investment into people wellbeing, as we strongly believe that we will not achieve our goals without setting up our people for success. Again, we are sorry that you didn't feel that way. The experience you describe is far from what we want to offer. We wish you to find what you're looking for in your new company.

Pros

The biggest advantages are the Salary, compensations and Benefits. So negotiate well your salary because the career opportunities are limited.

Cons

It wouldn't be fair no to mention this, but there is some serious diversity issues about the company. With the death of cookies marketing and the big turnover last year, the company is struggling to hire new software engineers.

Thanks for taking the time to submit your review. We're sorry to read that you have had a negative experience. Regarding your highlight on diversity, we agree that it's a top priority. We have just hired a dedicated, experienced person to head up the D&I program at Criteo and we look forward to this resulting in an even greater breadth of diversity and a stronger sense of inclusion among our employees!
