Pros

Healthcare plans are standard. Gym in premises. A lot of conference rooms around the buildings.

Cons

No life/work balance. Long hours. Old technology. Senior management has an extremely conservative vision. No training opportunities. No career opportunities. No change adaptation. Promotions are only reserved to "lunch friends".

Pros

Great benefits, above average facilities.

Cons

While the overall Discover Brand has a stellar reputation for treating employees very well, Discover Home Equity is a horse of a different color. In my 10+ years in the mortgage industry, I have never worked for a department that is micromanaged to the extent that the overall department morale is at an all time low. Blatant favoritism and a total disregard for workplace civility are traits that are often on display by management.
