Pros
-Good salary and benefits. -Nice building, plenty of free parking. -Nice colleagues. You will bond with them through shared suffering (ok, that's probably not a Pro) .
Cons
I can only speak for my team. Other teams may be different. - You will be trained for several weeks. Sounds good, right? But it will be several weeks of non-stop powerpoint. You will never see or use the products. Then you will try to help customers who have been using the products for several years. Good luck with that!! - You will have a very high case-load. Too high. You will spend all day extremely stressed. You will start working through your lunch. You will start working an extra hour after work. Your colleagues are already doing the same. You will not have time to chat with them. - You will be measured constantly, and in many ways. Your manager will never be happy with your stats. - You will realize that your manager is only interested in getting good stats to present to his/her manager. Not in you, or in the customer. You are a pawn in your managers career plan. And just like a pawn, you are disposable. - You will find yourself going to alot of staff leaving events. You will ask people why they are leaving Dell. Most will say they can't take the stress any more. Some will have failed their 6-month probation because their stats were not good enough. They will tell you how relieved they are to be away from the crushing pressure. You will realize that you envy them.
