Pros

In general EPAM Systems, Inc. is a good place for undergraduates, junior and regular-level specialists who have the passion for learning and professional growth. In a word, a good place to start with...! One can quickly and effectively grow here as the Company provides such options through variety of projects and initiatives like training, conferences, workshops, certifications, learning, skills and knowledge exchange sessions etc. Internal and Global mobility options. Accurate infrastructure and quality internal system platforms.

Cons

The company has outstanding shortage of competent personnel on higher managerial levels and on key positions. Most of the managers come from Eastern Europe and post-Soviet countries still holding an old-school mindset and attitude towards employees, which is basically about “I’m the boss and you are the fool”. Though worth mentioning that local Polish managers are quite better and mostly professional. Strangely-formed and costly benefit packages comparing to competitors. Almost no employee retention policy. I’ve been watching the best and key people leaving without being given a second chance. Only promises in the air. Seems like they're squeezing you out waiting for you to get final dry and bored. Senior and junior stuff are treated the same way, no clear understanding of seniority and responsibility scope. If you happen to work on a client side then you’ll be totally deprived of the company feel and communication. The only time they’ll remember about you is when you forget to fill in a time slot in your weekly report so they cannot get the money from the client. Bonus and rewarding are just nice words at EPAM. With 100% client feedback, excellent output and contribution both to project and to corporate events/affairs you might still find yourself on the edge fighting for what is yours deserved piece of cake. It reminds of a big slavery factory and for the company with such rating and history it’s a real shame to have such managerial personnel treating people in such manner.

Pros

Amazing team—very collaborative, supportive, and welcoming from day one. Strong leadership, my manager is incredibly supportive and gives you autonomy to take ownership and bring new ideas forward. There is a well-structured environment—processes are clear, well explained and continuously improving. Great opportunities to learn; many trainings and tools available to support professional growth. People genuinely care about each other and create a positive work environment.

Cons

In some cases, coordination across teams can take extra time

Pros

You get exposure to the very latest technology, and the company is implementing it in impactful, real-world ways. Even if you're not in a tech role, you naturally build deeper understanding in the latest technologies that you may never get exposure to at other companies. Truly global. Even for employees not in global roles, you still get good visibility into the company's global scale and impact.

Cons

Too much process around approvals which reduces speed of execution. Asked to step-up but then insufficient support provided. Two-faced behaviors of managers has become acceptable.
