Pros
When I started with the company I worked for the most amazing leaders. These leaders made an impossible job doable & enjoyable. These leaders taught me invaluable skill sets and helped me develop as a leader. Unfortunately, the CEO has surrounded herself with "yes" people and is not getting the critical feedback needed to continue the positive leadership that built this company. This has already eroded most of the positive elements that made this career path viable, and in all likelihood, this will continue. That being said, you learn a lot about business working in retail and managing retail teams. If you must work at Enterprise, work there for a year, get into management to get the experience, and then move on before you waste too much time.
Cons
The job itself sucks- no one will deny that. Retail is a hard business, it requires you to forget about work-life balance and sacrifice yourself for the company. Long hours, working holidays, and low pay until you reach upper management are just a reality of this business. They sell you on the big picture, which can be lucrative, but only a few will make it and it won't be based on merit, it's all about who you know. I arguably "made it," but I could no longer support the toxic leadership team I worked under and what they wanted me to sell. I had to sell employees on why we were consistently changing their pay for the worse, why they should work more hours for less pay, why they should work weekends and holidays, ect. Leaving Enterprise was the best decision I ever made, and I wish I made it sooner.
