Pros
Easy to do the bare minimum if you wish Good and flexible employee benefits Working environment is good compared to many other workplaces
Cons
Level of bureaucracy that needs to be dealt with is through the roof. Simple processes or changes are needlessly complex and can become a daily battle. Obsession with following SOA and 'covering your own back' is encouraged. Horrible mix of systems and processes that have been fudged together to create something that just about works. Completely falls apart whenever something "non-standard" needs to be done and considering the scale and complexity of the typical customer, this is a common occurrence. Incredibly siloed across departments/business units. Collaboration and encouraging to see the 'bigger picture' is incredibly difficult. Career development and salary increases DO NOT EXIST. Ambition is not rewarded, extra work and responsibilities that you seek out will simply become your job with little recognition. There are swathes of people who have been in their job simply for too long who either resent their job and are simply there to collect a paycheck, or they dictate and maintain outdated processes and styles of working. Particularly prevalent at management level Inconsistency across teams in how various policies are applied such as WFH.
