Pros
Some genuinely nice and capable people Great benefits and time off Some great managers, though they struggle to make a difference Seem to be more open to the idea working remote post pandemic
Cons
Please note that is a particularly difficult environment for women. You will be fighting the current every step of the way. Behaviour that would get someone shown the door at any other company is not only ok but rewarded. Zero accountability for toxic people. No real standards for career advancement or measuring performance. Overall culture of silo building and hiding information. The root cause: Upper management as a whole is incredibly weak. PTC makes the classic mistake of equating loud personalities with leadership skills. Cronyism is also a huge issue – so these individuals select people like themselves for advancement and perpetuate the culture. Many of them do not have the core skills for the job yet somehow have no problem speaking down to everyone around them. There are some amazing individual contributors and managers here but as they say “one bad apple spoils the bunch”. It’s way more than one at this point.
