Pros
- Above average salary - Health insurance - Company trip - Some nice people in the Sri Lankan office (not the management)
Cons
- Too much internal politics - No salary increases until you request - Racism (The country manager favours a selected ethnic group obviously and everybody else seems to just ignore it) - There wasn't an HR department, so no one to talk about employee issues. There was an HR representative, but their job was to protect the management. Nothing else. - Some of the people from the Indian office is too insecure about their job, so won't provide much help to others - Not much to learn. (If you're lucky, you'll get assigned to a team that do some real work - if you are a verification engineer, most probably you'd be fine - otherwise, it's just fixing small bugs. One can learn something from just fixing bugs, but here that isn't possible as you don't know what you're doing and others will not tell you either. They're just afraid you'll steal their job. So they just tell you to "Open file 'x', go to function 'y' and change line 'z'. That's it!
