Pros

Service for our great country. Outstanding benefits that cannot be matched anywhere. The retirement is outstanding if you put in 20 plus years. The Navy offers job security especially in these times of financial uncertainty. The pay increases over the past few years have done a great job of bringing the salaries of officers up to a very respectable rate.

Cons

You are tied into a contract and it is difficult to walk away. You may have to make several deployments away from your family. The constant moving around requires a flexible approach to your career and work enviornment.

Pros

Leadership really cares about employees and their well being.

Cons

Government work can be hard right now. We have restrictions on telework and offices are falling apart.

Pros

It is what you make out of it. You'll have good days and bad days. It's all dependent on your leadership. That can make or break the command. Medical is free, but can take a while to get seen. You'll meet a lot of new people and could travel around the world depending on your duty station. Education benefits and training.

Cons

Medical can take a while to get seen, unless it's an emergency. If you're single, the pay isn't that great, but you don't have to much to worry about for bills if you live on base. If you're on sea duty billet, your work life balance will be terrible.
