Pros

-- Pretty good salaries, although the sheer magnitude of H1B visa workers keep salaries way down for everyone in IT. -- The company does a very good job of monitoring and addressing sexual harassment in the workplace; women don't have to endure that kind of crap at EHI. -- I worked with some of the smartest and greatest people of my entire career at EHI (although maybe only one or two of them were in management).

Cons

-- EHI frequently hires H1B visa workers (mostly Indians) even when highly qualified U.S. citizens are available. -- The Lakeside facility features what is probably one of the worst working environments ever designed. It is truly abysmal. -- A college degree is required, but I have been told the CIO doesn't have one. -- Extremely long hours resulting in massive amounts of overtime, frequently taking place late at night and/or on weekends, are a common requirement in IT. You get very little comp time in return, as well as very little appreciation from management. With luck you might get an email that says, "Good job!". Wow. So I worked 300 hours of overtime over the course of the last three months and all I got in return was an email and maybe a couple of days off? Yeah, that really drives loyalty, doesn't it? -- IT workers at the corporate facility in Clayton still have to wear business formal, which is beyond ridiculous in this day and age. Fortunately, those at other facilities can dress down. -- Reorgs take place so often that it is not uncommon to average two or more bosses per year. And of course every reorg is advertised as the best reorg ever. If that was true then another reorg in a few months would not be necessary, would it? -- There are absolutely no retiree benefits. Not even a nickle off per day on a rental. -- As is unfortunately the case in so many organizations, there are many managers that seriously need to be fired, but manage to stay on because they are friends with their bosses.

Pros

The only good thing I can say about the job is that i met some nice people.. other than that nothing.

Cons

Working for Enterprise was the worst mistake I ever made. You are expected to work 60 hours a week, with very little, sometimes no breaks. There is also a late shift, where you are expected to work until the early hours of the morning - with contracted drivers, who in my branch could speak very little English, I felt very unsafe doing this. The culture in this place is the worst I've ever experienced, with self-absorbed management who would often shout and swear at you for little mistakes which are understandably made, considering the lack of training that you get, where they tell you its all "on the job" training. The training you do get is mostly comprised of lies, trying to get you to believe that Enterprise is amazing and no other company will offer the 'progression' they can. When in fact the only reason they can offer progression is because so many people quit. When I said i wanted to leave, it was made very difficult for me to do so and made in to a very long process. On a typical day I would spend 90% of my day driving, picking up customers and giving ride backs, and going on 'runs' where we would deliver the cars to all different destinations. I got nothing out of this job, apart from being able to drive faster because of the immense pressure put upon you to deliver cars in certain time frames - you were told to use your phone whilst driving, as the managers would ring constantly getting updates, you were told to break the speed limit in order to get the job done. The management would cut corners to save time, and bully staff into doing what they wanted. I would go home many evenings crying because of the pressure and stress of working here - it is completely unethically run. Only now working for a new organisation, do i realise how truly horrendous Enterprise was. The things you are told in the recruitment stages are all lies, because they are so desperate for staff - I never once got paid correctly for overtime worked, and if you work out the pay per hour, due to the large amount of hours worked, its sometimes less than minimum wage. I cannot stress enough how soul destroying this job was, please do not work here if you value yourself.

Pros

Great place to start. That's about all I can say. Keep your tunnel vision. Get in, make great connections, and leave.

Cons

But don't drink a full galloon of the green koolaid they try to sale you. Remember they are sales people too and will do anything to keep you "motivated" to be their slave. They speak about how much money you can make but those are all lies. Don't fall for it. If the person telling you how much money you could make has been there for 10+ years, then understand they really are making it but you will never see it. They are set up on older pay plans that allow them to truly earn a higher income, you however will work endlessly like a hamster on a wheel for nothing. Just get in, and get OUT!
