Pros

The work offers exciting projects, of course depending in which department one starts. Colleagues are wonderfully smart and international. Work schedule is reasonably flexible and the benefits are good.

Cons

Dealing with politicians, policy initiatives and lobbyists does not always bring out the best in people or work. In addition, while we work hard for Europe and its citizens, many are ungrateful towards the commission in particular and Member States consider it politically opportune to constantly reduce the salary and benefits of commission employees.
