Pros

Glassdoor genuinely cares about its employees. We are constantly sharing feedback and leadership clearly makes decisions based on the feedback we give. Leaning into being a remote first company means I work from home, have great benefits that cover my spouse, and have truly unlimited PTO with the autonomy to get my work done and take days off as I feel I need. I also have a clear track for career progression and can envision myself working here for many years (assuming I don’t get hit during layoffs). I think Glassdoor is a leader in understanding the value of company culture. I’m proud to work here and I think we at Glassdoor are a force for good.

Cons

Glassdoor is a for-profit publicly traded company and will always ultimately prioritize making money. Quotas have been getting steeper and our “path to a billion” feels like an arbitrary goal so we can say we did it. With Recruit Holdings as our parent company and our finances being so closely tied to Indeed, it seems we are doomed to be locked into the infinite growth model of capitalism and will never aim to simply be sustainable.

Hello and thank you for sharing this thoughtful feedback! I have to say I agree with so much of your sentiment and experience - it’s incredibly rewarding to hear that you feel supported in your career path, appreciate the autonomy and flexibility of remote work, and are proud of the culture we’re building together. We strive to create an environment where team members feel valued and empowered, so your words truly mean a lot. Regarding our financial goals, I understand your perspective and the concern around growth targets. Our path to a billion is a key milestone, that we believe we can achieve overtime, but it’s about more than just a number—it represents our commitment to sustaining a thriving business that can continue delivering value to our employees, clients, job seekers, and the broader community. Balancing growth with maintaining our values is always top of mind, and we remain committed to prioritizing both. Thank you again for your input and dedication. We’re committed to listening and acting on feedback to ensure Glassdoor remains a place where everyone feels proud to work. Keep sharing your insights—they’re essential to our growth and success - Kristin Brandon, Director of Customer Success

A Place to Get Things Done

Pros

- Great people, probably the best across the board that I've worked with - Interesting product; a two sided marketplace with lots of problems to solve - Size of the company enables you to get things done without having to fight through a bunch of red tape - Remote company, no fear of being sent back to an office and upending my life - Good, genuine focus on work/life balance (though this varies depending on department)

Cons

- Very lean company, so there's always a slew of work that we want to do but don't have enough people (IMO better than too much bloat and worrying about layoffs every second of every day) - Not a lot of diverse revenue drivers so makes me nervous

Hi teammate, thanks for leaving a review. I love this headline - I agree that Glassdoor is a place where we definitely know how to get things done. I also really enjoy working from home and all of the flexible perks that come along with it. It's nice to work for a company that enables you to lead the worklife that you want to live. This feedback is helpful. Agreed that as a lean team, we work really hard because we care about the product and our customers. I think it's important to lean on our unlimited PTO benefits to help balance the hard work we put in day to day. Thanks for sharing, really appreciate it! - Britney Martinez, Senior Talent Acquisition Partner
